The intended location for the new residential building is situated in a dynamically developing part of the city Vsetin in a close proximity to the historic centre and the transportation hub. Vsetin Hospital complex and a shopping gallery are also nearby. A new parking house has been built, which, along with the iconic tower dominates the area. Overall, the location is undergoing intensive development, making it increasingly attractive place for all.
As part of the proposed urban plan, we thoroughly analyzed all the aspects of transport accessibility, infrastructure and the available space. The goal was to ensure that the new residential building goes hand in hand with the planned transportation system and does not interfere with its functionality.
The residential building is divided into two volumes to allow for a smooth pedestrian flow through the area. The building is accessible from the main street as well as from a one-way road running along its northern façade. The primary function of both buildings is residential, but the entire ground floor is designated for commercial use due to the nature of the location.
The architectural concept of the residential building is inspired by the surrounding development and the newly built parking structure. We planned the residential buildings in a dynamic, oval shape that evokes movement, a characteristic feature of this location. Balconies are quite a distinctive element of the building, forming a ring around the structure, providing residents with privacy, outdoor space, and acting as a sound barrier against surrounding noise.
The ground floor of the residential building is intended for the shops and services, bringing vibrant life to this area. The skeletal structural system and the layout of the commercial units remains flexible, allowing their sizes to be adjusted according to specific business needs in the future.
The rooftop is a major highlight of this project. It will serve as a communal space for residents. A running track will be placed around its perimeter, designed not only for athletes but also for kids to play. This design feature reinforces the concept of movement, which is a significant characteristic of this location.
