The site for the residentioal building is located on the east coast of the Black Sea, in the region of Guria, near the resorts of Ureki and Kobuleti. The capital of Guria is about 20 km away. The coast, about 5 kilometers long, is bordered by a pine forest. The floor plan of the house responds to the longitudinal, rectangular shape of the plot. On the northern edge of the land towards the street is proposed parking with a capacity of 23 places.
The investor’s task was to design an apartment residential house with specific requirements for capacity and standard of living. Our aim was to create a simple functional composition, respecting the parameters of the plot and genius loci of the place near the Black Sea coast. The result of the design is a simple, clear layout, which offers considerable internal flexibility and is able to respond to individual operational requirements.
From the north, the outer space of the wall will be closed by a stainless steel net, which will serve as a supporting structure for climbing greenery. According to individual requirements, cooling units for individual flats will be installed on the stands.
To the south, the residential block will be complemented by an external reinforced concrete structure made of exposed concrete, which is a supporting element of the residential terraces in front of the interior surfaces of the apartments. The average depth of the terraces is 2.5 m. Due to the southern orientation of the terraces, these will be partially shaded by fixed wooden lamella screens, which will be supplemented by outdoor textile curtains.
