The city quarter Zora is an intersection of sport and living zones. A football stadium and a handball club area stand right next to a couple of residential blocks. The urban study focuses on the integration of all the elements and purposes of the area and creating one coherent system.
The main unit of the residential building is designed within the original construction floor plan. There are 7 floors all together. The restaurant is on the ground floor, the parking and tech space would be underground. Another 2-story high block fills in the gap between the tall horizontal construction and the family house on the other side. The lower block sits right on the glass part of the ground floor, and it is intended mostly for administrative purposes.
Furthermore, we have added multifunctional building that serves as a tribune and changing rooms for the handball club. Green areas will complement the seating around the stadium. We are also planning outdoor seating for the restaurant and kid’s playground nearby. We designed a new staircase too, in order to connect the tribune with the handball club.
The sensitive reconstruction of the heritage building is complemented in the courtyard tract by the contemporary reconstruction of less valuable buildings.
