The Sanatorium’s request was to improve on its garden accessibility and to make it more available not only to the clients and their families but also to the public. The first phase of the project is focused on expanding on the already existing gardens that the clients use seasonally.
A brand-new structure will be built in the central point. The mass aligns with the garden level and offers a generous space that invites the clients to reunite with their family and friends. The transparent staircase is the only part that intentionally stands out to the street level. The glass walls covering the staircase invite the public to get a little glimpse into the life of the sanatorium and its people.
The newly added spacious elevator that fits beds will allow the clients and their dear ones to explore all the corners of the gardens, terraces and fields and come together at the central meeting point.
